Matei has been advising businesses as an investment banker and strategy consultant for more than 20 years. Since 2010, he has completed 40+ M&A transactions with an aggregate value of $5+ billion.
Prior to founding Sandfox, Matei was a senior banker at Petsky Prunier (Canaccord Genuity), Equiteq, and AGC Partners. He started his investment banking career at Jefferies & Co., executing transactions across technology, healthcare, media, telecom, and other industries. Matei holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and graduated with honors from Cornell University with a degree in Cognitive Psychology and a minor in Computer Science.
Sultan was an intern at Sandfox in 2021 and was invited to join the firm as a full-time Analyst in 2022. Previously, Sultan was an investment banking intern at Amuka Capital and a private equity intern at Explora Partners.
While earning his degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Waterloo, Sultan was also the Founder & President of Waterloo Private Capital. In that capacity, he led a team of seven students supporting institutional funds through industry research and transaction modeling.
Zach has 10 years of experience as an investment banker and has completed 15+ M&A transactions and financial advisory engagements across a range of industries.
Prior to joining Sandfox, Zach was an investment banker for 6+ years at Wedbush Securities, where he executed M&A transactions across industries such as digital media, entertainment, consumer durables, and technology (software and hardware). Earlier in his career, he spent several years at Camden Advisory Partners and The Shemano Group. Zach earned a B.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Ari has two decades of experience as a strategic advisor, investor, and operator of companies in the technology and media industries. Ari has led 30+ transactions across four continents and has served as a corporate development executive for Defy Media and Evolve Media. Earlier in his career, Ari led the M&A pipeline for a Nasdaq-listed services company, consummating six acquisitions before the combined entity was acquired by KPMG.
Ari enjoys being a father, sailing, and restoring vintage automobiles. He is also the former President of Rocking the Boat, an after-school program teaching leadership and traditional wooden boat building to at-risk youth in New York City.
Tyler joined Sandfox in January 2023 with almost 10 years of financial services experience. He has completed 20+ transactions across investment banking and institutional investing.
Tyler began his career at Houlihan Lokey, where he spent two years structuring and modeling complex financial transactions for a broad range of middle market clients. He then joined MidCap Financial, a multi-billion dollar credit fund, where he was promoted twice in less than three years. Most recently, Tyler spent almost two years at Objective Capital, where he led junior bankers in successfully executing several M&A mandates. Tyler earned a B.S. in Finance from Brigham Young University.
Cameron joined Sandfox in 2022 with 3+ years of strategy and transaction experience. Previously, Cameron executed M&A transactions for a broad range of clients at Objective Capital. Earlier in his career, he worked in Ernst & Young's Strategy and Transactions practice, focusing on business valuation in the technology and biotechnology sectors. Cameron started his career in the middle market credit group at Banc of California, where he was promoted from Analyst to Portfolio Manager after just one year.
Cameron holds a B.S. in Physical Science with minors in Business Administration and Theology from Biola University.
